An Afghan boy who captured the hearts of football fans around the world after wearing a homemade Lionel Messi shirt has finally met his hero.
Murtaza Ahmadi, six, was photographed wearing a jersey made from a plastic bag bearing Messi’s name and number 10.
The child received a signed Barcelona shirt from Messi but, on Tuesday, the two met in Doha in partnership with Qatar’s 2022 World Cup Supreme Committee.
